Peter Wells - Team Leader
Peter
started flying aged 15 and after accumulating 1000 hours
gliding with all 3 diamonds, he converted to powered aircraft
building hours flying tow planes such as Piper Cubs and
the Pawnee. He bought an RF4D from the Tiger Club in 1990
which he operated for 13 years. Pete started learning aerobatics
in his RF4 then went on to the 200HP RV8 before building
his first Twister G-TWST. Pete has displayed the Twister
as a solo item as well as part of the Swift Aerobatic Display
Team throughout Europe and in the Middle East. Peter
runs "Zulu Glasstek"- a company specialising in
composite repairs for gliders and is the UK agent for the
Twister. Pete is also the display pilot for the Silence
Aircraft factory. Pete currently has over 2800 gliding
and 2000 powerful flying hours. Over 1100 of those are on
the Twister!!
Andy Preece
Andy
joins the Twister Duo after two very successful seasons
displaying the RAF Tutor T1 in 2007 and 2008. Andy has over
3000 flying hours and is a Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI)
and a Qualified Pilot Navigation Instruction (QPNI). Andy's
log book includes the Tornado GR1 and Harrier GR7/T10 along
with
a number of different training types including the venerable
Jet Provost, Tucano, Hawk and Dominie.
Guy Westgate
8 times National Glider Aerobatic Champion at Unlimited level and on the British team for 3 World Aerobatic Championships. Guy has been flying aerobatics since 1993 and displaying gliders since 1998, he has 2 World Records tandem paragliding with his brother, is an advanced aerobatic instructor and CAA Display Evaluator. Guy is an airline pilot and flys Boeing 747-400s for British Airways from Heathrow.
