7th July 2009 – Twister aerobatics are proud to be supported by Dynon Avionics and Garmin UK with equipment after meeting with Robert Hamilton of Dynon and Steve Gubbins of Garmin at Fredrichafen Air Fair. Both aircraft will eventually be completely fitted with both D10A electronic Gyro and D10 EMS engine management system and Garmin 495’s. Dynon and Garmin have led the world in their own fields, the Dynon glass screen cockpit technology differed from most of its rivals in that it actually worked! So it is great to be able to standardise our planes with the best equipment on the market now available.
As G- RIOT will be taking over the display solo and Swift team engagements for the remainder of 2009, Dynon and CRH logos have been applied to the aircraft. G –RIOT has just been fitted with the 107 HP high compression aerobatic engine built in Belgium by UL Power. So far the mating of engine and airframe has proved very successful after normal early teething problems were resolved. The smoke system has been tested and the new light weight Andair pump is both quieter, lighter and more reliable.
