2nd-3rd April 2009 – Over the 2nd and 3rd of April. Peter Wells displayed the SA180 Twister on behalf of Silence Aircraft GmbH at the AERO Friedrichshafen Trade Show in Germany. Peter flew  Jabaru powered  G-TWST and was joined by James ‘Spud’ Hallem in sister aircraft G-TWSR. The flight out to Germany was via the Alps to avoid airspace restrictions around NATO’s 60th Anniversary held in Strasbourg.

AERO 2009 is primarily a trade event for General Aviation with a number of exhibition halls full of companies selling their products. Despite the current economic climate, AERO 2009 was well attended and at the end of each day there were parties for the exhibitors. Special mention should go to Paddy from GA Europe for his hospitatlity!

Peter flew a modified routine because of the stringent German flying display rules which do not allow display aerobatics below 150m (490ft.) Joining Peter in the flying displays were Zoltan Veres in his new MXS he debuted in Al Ain, the Jeppensen Sychron-gliders as well a display from the new Extra 330SC.

We would like to thank Ralph Strassle and Verena Dolderer who organised the airshow, Matthais Strieker of Silence Aircraft for looking after us and James “Spud” Hallam who provided Ground Support.
